Made in England, this durable ironstone piece is known for its weight, strength, and simple elegance. The clean white glazes have age-appropriate crazing, which is typical for antique ironstone and adds to its character.
Perfect for use for entertaining or as decorative accent in a farmhouse or vintage kitchen. Measurements of the set: Set includes: -One platter (tray): measures 13.75" x 10.75". Stands about 0.5" tall -11 saucer plates: each measures 5.75" x5.75 in diameter. 8 teacups: each slightly under 3.5" x3.5" for opening diameter. Stand about 2.75 tall. About 4.5 at longest with handle included. One saucer plate has crack in the middle of the saucer (doesn't appear to leak through with water test) and one cup has a large chip to the rim (fragments will be sent along with the cup for potential repair but didn't attempt myself). Crazing diffusely throughout on all pieces. A few of the cups have slightly rough edges (other than the one that has a larger chip) which may be secondary to manufacturing flaws but small chips (aka fleabites) can't be ruled out completely. Kiln marks on the bottom of saucers /platters from the manufacturing process of ironstone. One cup with an excess glaze sand gran on the bottom which can't be seen when item is upright. Maker's mark vary - most saucers have the green printed maker mark but 2 have the black old maker mark. The platter is the only one that has a more recent printed maker mark. The cups only have the embossed "made in England" on the bottom. Some cups with manufacturing flaws with indents near base.
Some stains and discolorations including tea stains and tiny dark flecks, Utensil marks and superficial scratches. Attempted to capture all flaws including manufacturing flaws in pictures and/or notes. Pieces are ironstone and as such, all pieces may have imperfections with pottery or the overlying glaze, such as raised molding specks/flecks, or lines, indentions that appear like possible nicks but with the overlying glaze they would have been flawed even at the time of production, and/or missing spots of glaze. Rim: Scalloped / fluted edge Please view all pictures as a visual aid and further description of the item. Please be aware of color variances that exist with different computer screens and/or lighting/photographs.
