His Majesty Johnson Bros Thanksgiving Turkey Platter England Vintage 20 X 16

  

Impressive vintage turkey platter, transferware image of His Majesty, Tom Turkey, in all his glory. And large, 20.25" x 15.75"... Johnson Bros, England back stamp. These platters were very popular in the States, and were produced from the 1950s through the 80s.

They graced many a Thanksgiving table! Condition: glossy finish, I do see some crazing on the bottom, but not on the top. I see no cracks or chips. A real beauty, with only one imperfection... And that was in the making.. At the lower right of the border, there is a misapplied spot of transferware (see last photo for close up). Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to give this as a gift, despite that minor flaw.
